Chief Strategy and Solutions Officer

Michelle serves as Chief Strategy and Solutions Officer at Augustus Healthcare Solutions. She brings more than 26 years of experience in adult education and training and over 20 years in healthcare technology, operations, and regulatory program leadership. Michelle has supported organizations nationwide through complex implementations of provider and facility EMR/EHR systems, Health Information Exchanges, risk adjustment coding and submissions systems, quality and Stars abstraction platforms, hospital time and attendance platforms, and capital budgeting software — ensuring teams are prepared, confident, and equipped to adopt new processes and technologies.

For the last decade and a half, Michelle has focused her career on Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and ACA Risk Adjustment, Quality and Payment Integrity, helping health plans strengthen compliance, improve documentation accuracy, and optimize performance across regulatory programs. Her expertise includes intervention identification, coding accuracy, clinical documentation improvement, audit readiness, submissions management, and operational efficiency, with a consistent emphasis on building scalable, sustainable workflows that support long-term organizational success.

At Augustus Healthcare Solutions, Michelle plays a key role in architecting client solutions, partnering with provider groups and health plans to design offerings that align technology, operations, and regulatory requirements. She also supports sales strategy and solution development, helping prospective clients understand how Augustus' capabilities translate into measurable value, operational readiness, and improved outcomes. Her ability to bridge regulatory complexity with practical application reflects Augustus' commitment to clarity, compliance, and client partnership.

Michelle is an active industry voice and has presented at RISE National, RISE West, and other leading conferences, sharing insights on Risk Adjustment, Quality and Stars, Social Determinants of Health, Payment Integrity, and emerging regulatory trends. Her sessions emphasize operational readiness, policy interpretation, and the connection between data, documentation, and performance — reinforcing Augustus' mission to help organizations navigate an evolving regulatory landscape with confidence.

Michelle holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction: Educational Technology from the University of Northern Iowa. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and baking for family, friends, and colleagues, spoiling her dogs, assembling intricate LEGO sets, and selecting bourbon barrels for various pick groups — hobbies that reflect her creativity, curiosity, and love of hands-on craftsmanship.
